About Scooterports
We have 3 kids. We live in a neighborhood with lots of kids in the same age range, so after Christmas on year, when every kid from 6 to 16 got scooters and many wound up at my house, I just had to come up with a place to park them!

The scooter manufacturers were so smart by making them fold up for storage, they did not put a kick stand on them. My kids don't even fold them up when they put them in the car!! Anyway, I went to Home Depot looking for a Scooter Rack. I bought a garden tool holder that holds rakes and shovels, etc. by the handle. I cut some pieces of PVC pipe for spacers to move it away from the wall, bolted it to the wall, parked the scooters theree and was really proud of myself. Everyone thought it was a great idea, but only a couple of dads determined as I was, went through the same efforts as I did. I was already in the plastic safety tagging business and was familiar with injection molding, so I decided to try to come up with something that could be made out of plastic. I had several wooden prototypes made, made revisions several times, made them hook together, and finally got the center slot the size I wanted to accommodate different manufactured scooters.
Then what? Scooterports! The kids and I went through a lot of names before setling on that. Now I have a product that all my friends want. With the Scooterport, people can organize a small piece of their lives while still having fun! Parents are happy because the scooters are neatly organized and kids are happy because they have a place to park "their" scooters!
